Day 46 - 071609

Grant Village campground to Canyon Campground - 44 miles

We woke up this morning with frost covered tents and it was cold! It took a bit of time standing by the fire and for the sun to warm the air before I was ready to get on the bike. I rode with Kevin, Becca, and our three new friends to our first stop for food at the Yellowstone Lake General Store. We then saw a resting bison on the roadside, checked out the Fishing Bridge, and endured the thick odor of sulfur at the Mud Volcano. As we rode the bison sightings became more frequent and we eventually crossed paths with a heard crossing the road and swimming through a river on their way to the other side.

We visited the Canyon General Store and set up camp at the Canyon Campground. Several of us ventured out to explore the site and sounds of Yellowstone. We saw spectacular views of the Yellowstone River & Yellowstone Falls from Inspiration Point, Grand View, & Lookout Point.
