Day 8 - 060809

Blacksburg VA to Rural Retreat VA 84 miles

Up at 5am to get packed up and post some blogs. Headed over to Don and Kristens for departure. Taking the Huckleberry trail out of town was a great way to end our time in Blacksburg. Our first stop for food and a quick break was at Southgate market. The sun was blazing all day and the heat really took its toll as the long ride was a tough one. We rode through radford and newbern before stopping for a second time in Draper VA. Our final stop was in Wytheville, VA where I had some yummy taco bell. We finally arrived at the Rural Retreat lake and park with enough light to set up camp. We met a great guy named Gary who brought Spaghetti and trout for us to eat for dinner. Gary is a milk truck driver and is nicknamed the "moo juice express".
