Chanute, KS to Cassoday, KS - 100.76 miles
Today we were excited about the forecasted cooler temperatures and about the possibility of riding beyond our scheduled stop and riding over 100 miles for the first time on our trip. Kevin and I must have still been hyped up after our wrestling match as we set the alarms for 4am and were on the road by 4:45. We started our ride in the dark with only the lights on our bikes to guide our way. The sun rose and after 40 miles we made it to our first stop at The Cafe in Toronto, KS where I had the "Bad Brad" a plate pilled high with hash browns, gravy, sausage, eggs, and toast. We next stopped in Eureka, KS at Sonic for 44 oz limeades and then headed over to wait for the group at Gulick's Gardens & Garden Cafe. We decided to go for it and bike the 40 additional miles to complete the "century". We arrived at the Cassoday City Park in Cassoday, KS and set up camp. Several of us ate some dinner and enjoyed a nap. Don and Mason drove to Wichita to pick up Will who will be joining us for the reminder or the journey to Oregon.
